Collection: La Gallinara

In the small village of Albenga, about 70 km west of Genoa, lies the headquarters of La Gallinara, named after the offshore island, where whole crowds of chickens were once raised, le galline. Their location is the centre of Ligurian basil country, harvested in June and July, when the large-leaved and delicately shiny herbs have reached their peak. Here you will find perfect conditions: mild climate, fertile, rich soils and a culinary tradition based on the incomparable taste of this much loved sauce.
